Every week, I look through what's new on Prime Video and highlight the three new and/or noteworthy series that are perfect for a weekend binge-watching session.
Chief among these recommendations right now is the streaming service's latest original: a new Nicole Kidman-fronted crime thriller, "Scarpetta." You can find a little more info about the release (plus my other new to Prime Video streaming recommendations) below.
'Cross'
"Cross" season 2 has been on this list for a few weeks now, but there really hasn't been a better time to binge-watch this show. New episodes have been dropping on a weekly basis since mid-February, and now we're looking forward to the season 2 finale of this hit Prime Video crime thriller. In other words, it's the best time to get caught up, if you haven't already.
If you're yet to check the show out, "Cross" is a crime thriller based on James Patterson's Alex Cross novels, and sees Aldis Hodge stepping into the titular role of forensic psychologist and detective. Season 2 (which will conclude in just a couple of weeks) sees Cross pursuing a ruthless vigilante who is hunting down corrupt billionaire business magnates, and if you're looking to be drawn into another dark case, this could be the series for you.

'Scarpetta'
Prime Video's latest arrival is "Scarpetta," a new crime thriller that's rocketed straight to the top spot in the platform's charts following its debut on March 11.
The series adapts Patricia Cornwell's book series of the same name, and revolves around the titular forensic pathologist, Kay Scarpetta (Nicole Kidman). Across two timelines, the series follows her journey from Chief Medical Examiner in the late '90s to her contemporary return to her hometown. Scarpetta returns to her old role while investigating a grisly murder, navigating complicated relationships, confronting old grudges, and facing secrets that could well unravel everything she's built.

'Young Sherlock'
"Young Sherlock" was Prime Video's first major release in March, and it's another take on the world's greatest detective from British director Guy Ritchie.
If you're yet to check the series out, "Young Sherlock" introduces us to Sherlock Holmes (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), well before he became the world's greatest detective. Following a chance encounter with his would-be rival, James Moriarty (Dónal Finn), Holmes finds himself embroiled in a murder investigation, and as he starts to unravel his first case, he stumbles onto a far greater, far-reaching conspiracy that will lead him on a globe-trotting adventure. It was Prime Video's top watch immediately after release, and has only just been superceded by "Scarpetta," and makes for a fast-moving, action-packed adventure — and all eight episodes are available now.
