2XKO locks in global release date for Season 1 launch

Riot Games has confirmed that 2XKO will officially roll out its full Season 1 launch globally on Jan. 20 to 21 (depending on time zones), bringing the League of Legends-inspired fighting game to PC and consoles, including Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 at the same time.

According to their official announcement post on X, 2XKO will launch globally across all three platforms with Season 1 acting as the starting framework for the live-service cycle.

The timing lines up with Riot’s broader plan for multiple seasons through 2026, each expected to refresh ranks, battle passes, and the champion lineup. At the same time, the rollout also marks the end of its early access phase on PC, signaling a unified start line for console and PC players worldwide.

2XKO set to have crossplay, cross-progression, and early access carryover

Riot is positioning 2XKO as a fully connected ecosystem, confirming cross-platform play and cross-progression between PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.

This means if you’ve already spent time in early access on PC, you will keep all of your unlocked content and progression when Season 1 starts. This will avoid the usual reset that comes with launch transitions.

With the Season 1 launch, 2XKO shifts from a PC-first title into a multi-platform free-to-play fighter available only on current-generation consoles, opening the door for a wider competitive base. Console players will enter the same queues and online lobbies as existing PC players from day one of the new season.

Speaking of competition, Riot Games has laid out the game’s 2026 competitive roadmap, which includes a 20-event circuit, TO-focused support, and more.

With rollback netcode, a 2v2 tag format, and a League of Legends roster, the game is ready to attract both dedicated FGC competitors and MOBA fans looking for a new way to play familiar champions.
