A woman has died following a crash involving two cars.
Officers were alerted to the crash involving two cars on the A4063 between Nicholls Road and Bridgend Road, Maesteg, at about 9.17pm on Wednesday, August 10. Police, fire fighters, and paramedics attended the scene.
The crash was between a Hyundai and a Renault Clio. Despite the best efforts from the emergency services, the driver of the Hyundai, a 28-year-old woman from the Maesteg area was declared dead at the scene.

Additionally, the driver and the passenger were taken to hospital for treatment, however police described their injuries as "minor". The road was closed for almost eight hours following the incident.
Police Sergeant Jason Beaumont said: “The collision involved two vehicles: a blue Hyundai and a blue Renault Clio. Despite best efforts from the emergency services, the driver of the Hyundai a 28 year-old female, from the Maesteg area, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver and passenger of the Renault Clio were taken to hospital with minor injuries.”
Officers are appealing to any witnesses, anyone with dash-cam footage, or who stopped at the scene to contact South Wales Police here and quote occurrence number 2200269545.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 21:17 yesterday evening, 10 August, to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A4063 in Bridgend. It was a multi-agency response with South Wales Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service in attendance. We deployed two rapid response vehicles, three emergency ambulances and were supported by the Hazardous Area Rescue Team. Two patients were conveyed to Princess of Wales Hospital for further treatment."
A spokesperson from South Wales Fire and Rescue also confirmed attending the scene. They said: "At 9.23pm on Wednesday the 10 th of August, we received reports of a Road Traffic Collision in Llangynwyd, Maesteg."
