A 26-year-old corporate employee has shared a detailed account of her September expenses while living in Bengaluru, offering a glimpse into how quickly monthly spending can add up. Her expenses ranged from rent and groceries to travel, subscriptions, dining out and shopping.
Instagram user Shivanjali shared the breakdown in a video, detailing where her money went throughout the month.
₹25,000 spent on rent and maintenance
Shivanjali said she lives in a three-BHK apartment with her college friends. Her share of the monthly rent and maintenance is ₹25,000.
She usually eats breakfast and lunch at her office, which helps reduce her daytime food expenses. For dinner, she splits the cost of a cook with her flatmates, contributing around ₹2,000 a month.
Her share of household groceries costs another ₹3,000.
