One of the rarest 20p coins in the UK has sold for £70 on eBay and there are many more still in circulation.
The undated 20p became the first coin in over 300 years to enter circulation without a date and it’s estimated by The Royal Mint that no more than 250,000 coins made it into circulation.
This mule coin came about when the new Royal Shield 20p coins were struck for circulation in 2008, with no date on the reverse.

But a batch was accidentally issued with no date on either side of the coin.
On January 18, one lucky seller received £70 for theirs - some 350 times its original worth.
The seller listed the item as a "Genuine Rare Undated 20p Coin Royal Mint Error Coin no date 20 pence mule" and listed postage costs at £2.06.
Coin experts Change Checker said: "This coin is regarded by many as the Holy Grail of change collecting, and back in 2008, the undated 20p saga encouraged an entire country to start carefully checking their coins."
Earlier this month, one of these coins sold for £90, to a seller from Liverpool.
If you're planning on buying a coin, be aware of fakes being sold on eBay so you don’t get scammed out of money.
You can get coins verified by the Royal Mint to check they're the real deal.
A Royal Mint spokesperson said: “The Royal Mint can confirm a small number of new design 20p coins were incorrectly struck using the obverse from the previous design, as a result these coins bear no date.
“The issue was quickly resolved. The Royal Mint would like to assure the public that these are legal tender.”
