The New York Giants continued their disappointing and embarrassing season on Sunday with an ugly 34-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
The defeat extended the Giants’ losing streak to 10 games, the longest in franchise history.
However, there was a silver lining to Sunday’s loss. After the Giants had already lost, the Las Vegas Raiders, the other two-win team going into Week 16, defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars.
With the win by Vegas, the Giants are now slated to pick first overall in the 2025 NFL draft, per Tankathon.
The Giants will be the only two-win team going into Week 17 and will control their own destiny (in a sense). If they lose out, they will own the No. 1 pick in April for the first time since 1965.
Many suspect the Giants will target a quarterback in the draft. However, the question remains if general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll will still be with the team to make the pick.
The win by the Antonio Pierce-led Raiders snapped a 10-game losing streak for Las Vegas.
The Giants will host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17 where they have opened up as heavy home underdogs. After that, they will wrap up the season against the Philadelphia Eagles on the road.
