Michigan State played host to one of the top prospects in the country in the 2025 class earlier this week.
24/7 High School Hoops tweeted earlier this week that five-star small forward Trey McKenney of Flint, Mich. took an unofficial visit to Michigan State on Tuesday. McKenney is considered one of the top players from the state of Michigan in the 2025 class.
McKenney ranks as the No. 13 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also listed as the No. 1 small forward and No. 2 player from Michigan in the class.
Michigan State is one of more than 15 schools to already extend an offer to McKenney. Other notable programs to extend an offer to McKenney includes Alabama, Arizona State, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Miami (FL), Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Stanford, TCU and Texas.
2025 5⭐️ Trey McKenney just wrapped up an unofficial visit to Michigan State and Tom Izzo, he told me.
McKenney is a high-level defender on and off the ball and can score the ball from all three levels. A big time competitor on both ends.
