A big field of 23 runners will head to Town Moor on Saturday on what is the final day of the British turf season – so to help find the winner we’ve got the key November Handicap trends and stats that you can apply to the final entries.
November Handicap Signals The End Of The 2024 Turf Season
The curtain comes down on another British horse racing turf flat season on Saturday with a competitive card at Doncaster signing it off.
There are three Doncaster races being shown on ITV Racing too, with the ultra-competitive November Handicap run over 1m4f one of the features.
According to the best horse racing betting sites in the UK it’s the Ralph Beckett-trained Valvano and William Buick-ridden Master Builder that top the market.
However, with just two winning favourites since 1996, those at the head of the betting haven’t fared well in recent years.
There are plenty more November Handicap trends and stats to take into the race (see below). Including 70% of the last 20 winners carrying 9st or less in weight and also being placed in their last race.
Plus, despite being run over 1m4f, the draw stats tell us that a massive 85% have been drawn 9 or higher – which would be a negative for two of the more fancied runners Miller Spirit (6) and Stressfree (5).

Be Wary Of The November Handicap Favourite
In a tight betting heat, the best betting sites in the UK are suggesting we might have to wait right till the off time until we can be sure of the 2024 November Handicap favourite.
At this stage the likes of Valvano, Master Builder, Miller Spirit and Stressfree are in with a chance of being sent off as market leader – but a lot can change between now and Saturday afternoon.
However, whichever horse does end up with the favourites tag – there should be a word of caution.
The November Handicap has only seen two winning jollies since 1996 – which equates to just a 7% strike-rate over this period.
On a plus, these last two winning favourites have come fairly recently. With the last Farhan in 2021 and before that Open Eagle in 2014.
ITV Racing To Show The 2024 November Handicap LIVE
There is a huge ITV Racing coverage on Saturday too – with the free-to-air channel covering ELEVEN races across three venues – Wincanton, Aintree and Doncaster.
There will be three races from Doncaster shown live – including the November Handicap at 3:45pm, which will be the final race on the marathon ITV schedule.
That’s the case again in with the free-to-air channel at Exeter to take in four races live on ITV4.

- 3:10 Doncaster: Virgin Bet Irish EBF Gillies Fillies’ Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 (3yo+) 1m2f ITV

Melbourne Cup Runner Onesmoothoperator Won The 2023 November Handicap
12 months ago, the November Handicap was switched to the AW track at Newcastle, due to Doncaster being waterlogged.
This move played into the hands of the Brian Ellison-trained Onesmoothoperator, who has decent form on the AW surfaces, and went onto win the prize by an easy 2 1/2 lengths.
Onesmoothoperator won the Geelong Cup in Australia last month and was seen running 12th in the Melbourne Cup at the start of November – winning £85k in prize money as a result.
