2024 NFL salary cap goes up over $30 million

The NFL announced the 2024 salary cap and it is a big jump. Originally expected to be around $242 million, the league announced an increase of more than $30 million.

The 2024 NFL salary cap will be $255.4 million. It is the highest ever and the highest jump year to year.

It was $224.8 million in 2023.

The jump is the result of the full repayment of all amounts advanced by the clubs and deferred by the players during the Covid pandemic as well as an extraordinary increase in media revenue for the 2024 season.

The league also increased other player benefits like performance-based pay and benefits for retired players.

With the new cap set for the upcoming season, the Arizona Cardinals have over $53 million in cap space, according to Over the Cap and more than $57 million according to Spotrac.
