The Carolina Panthers find themselves in a tough spot this season. After trading up to draft quarterback Bryce Young and now they find themselves as one of the worst teams in the NFL and don’t have a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft. Carolina is going to have to be smart in free agency as well as the draft if they want to take some real strides next season after investing so heavily in the guy who might not have been the best or even fourth-best quarterback in the last draft.
1 - Offensive line
The Panthers have one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL and a great offensive line is the best friend of a young quarterback. The guard and center classes aren’t great but there could be several interesting names at pick No. 34.
2 - Wide receiver
The next position the Panthers should target to help out young is at wide receiver. And given the depth at this position in 2024, there will be plenty of players to pick from outside of the first round.
3 - Defensive line
Interior defensive line is another area where Carolina needs help. A big body in the middle of that defensive front to shore things up and provide strength and physicality at the point of attack.
4 - Tight end
Just like wide receiver, tight end is a significant need for an offense that just can’t get going. The Panthers will need to get lucky with a player on the third day.
