Silly season has arrived and this week was time for the Grant Thornton Invitational, the PGA Tour-LPGA Tour mixed team event. The purse was $4 million, with the winning team set to evenly split a $1 million prize.
Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp shot 58 in the first round's scramble format and never looked back, winning by a shot at 27 under for the 54-hole event at the Ritz-Carlton Resort in Naples, Fla.
