After a week in Western New York for the PGA Championship, the PGA Tour heads back down to the Lone Star State for the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
Sam Burns, who missed the cut by a wide margin at Oak Hill, is the defending champion after taking down Scottie Scheffler in a playoff in 2022. Scheffler, however, is the heavy betting favorite at +400. The next closest is Jordan Spieth at +1200.
Spieth didn’t complete the career grand slam last week, but he did play well enough to tie for 29th despite some concern about his wrist. The Texan has finished in the top 10 of this event in seven of the last eight years.

Sungjae Im (+1800)
Im surprisingly missed the cut at the PGA, but will enter the week in good spirits thanks to his great track record at Colonial. He finished 15th in ’21 and 10th in ’20.
Before an early exit from New York, Im tied for eighth at the Wells Fargo, tied for seventh at the RBC Heritage and tied for 16th at the Masters.
Justin Rose (+2500)
Rose has played fantastic golf since missing back-to-back cuts at the Genesis and Arnold Palmer Invitational. He’s finished T-6, T-36, T-16 (Masters), T-25 and T-9 (PGA) in his last five starts.
The Englishman missed the cut at Colonial in 2022, but grabbed 20th in ’21, third in ’20 and won the event in 2018.
Tommy Fleetwood (+2800)
It feels like Fleetwood is trending towards his first Tour win.
After missing out on the Sweet 16 at the WGC-Dell Match Play in March, Fleetwood has finished 33rd at the Masters, tied for 15th at the RBC Heritage, tied for fifth at the Wells Fargo and tied for 18th at the PGA.
In his lone appearance at Colonial, the Englishman grabbed 35th last season.
Cam Davis (+3500)
Davis had a great week in New York for the PGA, tying for fourth.
Colonial is a golf course that you can’t overpower. Players will have to shape the ball, fit it into tight fairways off the tee and likely work it both ways. An easy course comparison to make is Harbour Town Golf Links — host of the RBC Heritage. Davis tied for seventh in Hilton Head Island last month.
