The Jacksonville Jaguars were probably the busiest team on the opening day of the tampering period, but it was a day mostly filled with adding new faces to the team instead of re-signing some of their pending free agents. However, after how the last two seasons have gone, fans seem to be more than fine with the new approach.
But when it comes to the Jags’ group of pending free agents, DJ Chark Jr. was the one the fanbase wanted back the most due to his deep speed ability. Unfortunately, that won’t be happening, though, as the former second-round selection has found a new team in the Detroit Lions.
The deal was one that ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported early Tuesday morning. As some expected, it was a prove-it deal, and the terms are to join Detroit on a one-year deal for $10 million (all fully guaranteed), which isn’t a bad bump in pay at all for Chark.
Former Jaguars’ WR D.J. Chark intends to sign a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions, per source.

Chark will join a Lions team that has Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds as its top receiver options. Both players seem like promising receivers when looking at what they did last season, but when adding Chark into the mix, the group will get some help with explosive plays.
Chark will enter his career with the Lions with 2,042 total career yards through 147 catches and 15 touchdowns. This season will mark the fifth for him in the league as the Jags took him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft with the 61st overall pick.
