The Minnesota Vikings made some noise in more ways than one in the opening night of the 2022 NFL draft.
They traded away their No. 12 overall pick and paved the way for their NFC North rivals, the Detroit Lions, to move up on the board and draft standout receiver Jameson Williams.
By trading away their top pick, along with the 46th pick, they moved back to the end of the line in the first round, and surprisingly, they still came away with Georgia safety Lewis Cine at No. 32.
There’s still plenty of work to be done to patch their struggling secondary, as well as filling other areas of need on the roster. They’ll have three picks on day two with the No. 34 and 66th pick, which were obtained in the trade with the Lions, along with the No. 77 overall draft pick.
