A South West nursing agency has said it is planning to recruit 200 nurses and carers over the next 18 months.
Ocean Healthcare provides support to private nursing homes, hospices, hospitals, and residential homes across Devon, Cornwall, and Somerset. Based in Newton Abbot, where it invested £25,000 into a new training centre last year, the company said it had grown by more than 40% in the past two years.
Commercial director Paul Insley, said: "We are proud of the high level of care and support we provide and are now able to do more to meet the growing need for care services by expanding our team.”
Ocean Healthcare said it had made “significant changes” to its onboarding process and introduced mental health first aid training for support staff, and had seen “significant improvements” in staff retention and satisfaction.
The firm added that its new training centre was expected to help improve and expand healthcare services across the region, with an official opening planned the end of April.
