20 years later, I just realised the Final Fantasy 12 save on my PS2 memory card looks like it says Final Fantasy 9

Vivi plush from Final Fantasy 9 posed next to red PS2 memory card resting on controller receiver plugged into console.

Final Fantasy 9 isn't a PS2 game, but I've just noticed my PS2 memory card has a Final Fantasy save that looks like it has the wrong text. It's actually taken me 20 years to realise that the tiny low-res icon looks like it belongs to the earlier PS1 RPG, and there's a very silly reason why it looks that way.

You see, I've been messing around with an upscaler that solves jittery PS2 visuals using motion-adaptive interlacing. It'll also scale up any retro console that supports RGB output, but it's the systems that rely on interlaced graphics that benefit most from the gizmo.
