Today the city was filled with vibrant colour as it celebrated Chinese New Year 2023.
Liverpool's Chinatown became a festival of sound and colour with a packed programme of free events for everyone to enjoy. This Sunday, January 22, the city celebrated the Year of the Rabbit with live music, food and craft stalls and more, finishing off with its stunning fire finale from Liverpool-based group Bring The Fire.
We've already seen the Sefton Park Palm House, Royal Liver Building, Liverpool Town Hall and St George's Town Hall all lit up in red to signify good fortune. Today our ECHO photographers were out and about snapping all the best bits, along with our reporter Danny Rigg who kept us updated throughout the day.

Along with specially designed Chinese New Year rabbit lanterns standing 1.5 metres high, the city also saw live dance performances and plenty of colour throughout the day. The buzzing atmosphere finished on a high with the Bring the Fire Project which is a fully choreographed show combining traditional light theatre, light manipulation and contemporary circus.
Their sunset performance on the Great George Square was the ultimate finale making the day a memorable one. We've got all the best pictures from the day if you didn't manage to make it.
