CHANDIGARH: After two years, students who wanted to appear for the golden chance examination got some relief. PU administration will soon give golden chance to students to complete degrees left incomplete for some reason or to improve their marks. The golden chance will be given to students of PU and its 195 affiliated colleges. The examination will be conducted in May.

PU vice-chancellor Prof Raj Kumar has approved the proposal and by next week, the university will issue a notification regarding the golden chance. To avail the opportunity, students will have to apply with the prescribed fee in about 10 days.

Earlier, information was sought from all departments on behalf of the PU examination department regarding golden chance. PU syndicate had approved golden chance to students in 2019, but it could not be done over the past two years due to the Covid pandemic.

Students got a golden chance in October 2021 and about 3,000 availed the opportunity.

However, since many students could not appear senators demanded golden chance in the Senate meeting on February 13, 2022 and this was approved by the Senate by consensus.

Students who want to take the golden chance exam will have to pay Rs 10,000. Also, the exam will be held according to the new syllabus.
