NEW DELHI: With the special officer and the commissioner of unified corporation taking charge from Sunday, the formal heads of the various departments in Delhi Municipal Corporation will be known in a week. A municipal official said that the priority of the two new officers would be formulating a common policy for all departments, including property tax, sanitation and public health, and coming up with ways to deal with the financial straits the civic body finds itself in.
“Though it is quite clear that the head of the departments will be appointed according to seniority, a formal list will be out possibly in a week,” said an official. “That means, of the current heads of departments in the three municipal corporations, the most experienced and seniormost could be put in charge of engineering, sanitation, health and education and other departments. There may, however, be exceptions.”
