A 19-year-old woman remains in hospital with 'pelvic injuries' following a two-vehicle collision.
Emergency services were called to the collision, which involved a Ford KA and a Mercedes CLA, on the B6275 at the crossroads between Summerhouse and Royal Oak, near Darlington, just before 5.15pm Wednesday afternoon.
Four people from the two cars were taken to hospital and the road was shut for several hours as emergency services including County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service, the North East Ambulance Service and the Great North Air Ambulance Service dealt with the incident.
Durham Police have since confirmed that a 19-year-old woman remains at James Cook Hospital, with pelvic injuries. An investigation is ongoing and officers would like to thank those who stopped at the scene to assist those who were injured, prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
