This is the moment a 19-story Texas hotel was demolished in a controlled implosion after it was closed earlier this year to make way for a new luxury resort.
The Sheraton Hotel in Arlington was brought down in a controlled explosion on Saturday (6 June). Dust billowed into the air while onlookers filmed the spectacle. Some people could be heard cheering in the background.
According to the city of Arlington, construction will soon start at the site on Americana by Loews Hotels, a $500 million, 507-room luxury property.
