This "triptych fable" by Yorgos Lanthimos features three bizarre stories in one. "The Death of R.M.F." follows a man whose life unravels when his boss shatters his illusions. In "R.M.F. Is Flying," a police officer tests his wife's loyalty after a suspicious research expedition by demanding she cut off and cook her fingers. The final story, "A woman's search for a spiritual guide," follows a woman on the lookout for someone with extraordinary abilities destined for spiritual leadership. Chock-full of unsettling imagery and somewhat disturbing overtones among the surrealism, this is one of Lanthimos's most intriguing works yet.

'(500) Days of Summer'
What’s better than a sweet romance movie in the summer? "(500) Days of Summer" is a romantic comedy-drama that explores the complexities of love and relationships through the experiences of its main characters, Tom Hansen (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Summer Finn (Zooey Deschanel). The movie is told in a nonlinear fashion, jumping back and forth across the 500 days of their relationship, from their first meeting to their eventual breakup.
Tom, a greeting card writer and a hopeless romantic, falls deeply in love with Summer, who is more cynical about love and not looking for anything serious. We see the highs and lows of their relationship, and the differences in their expectations and perceptions of love. "(500) Days of Summer" offers a realistic and sometimes bittersweet look at how love doesn't always go as planned. — AB

This journey of self-discovery is mostly a tale of sexual awakening and loss of naïvety with just a hint of Frankenstein's monster.
