An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital after falling from a cliff top at King Edward's Bay in North Tyneside.
HM Coastguard paged the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade and Blyth Coastguard Rescue Team to King Edward's Bay in Tynemouth after a report that a casualty fell from the cliff top at 1.18am on Saturday.
The brigade provided initial casualty care before working with the Hazardous Area Response Team from the North East Ambulance Service to prepare the casualty for rescue.

Along with the Coastguard Team, brigade members then used a stretcher and rope rescue equipment to safely recover the casualty from the cliff to a place of safety. They were then taken to hospital. Officers from Northumbria Police were also on the scene.
A spokesperson for the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade said: "We later received a message from a relative of the casualty thanking us for attending and confirming that the casualty had received only relatively minor injuries."
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 1.20am on Saturday, we were alerted by the ambulance service to a report of an 18-year-old man falling from a cliff at King Edward’s Bay.
"Emergency services attended the scene and rescued the male, who was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening."
The North East Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
