17-year-old British carpentry apprentice began building a small 12.5-sq-m trailer home from reclaimed materials; within three years, he owned it debt-free after spending just £6,000

A 20 year old carpentry apprentice from Bristol has built and now fully owns a mobile home that cost him just £6,000, after spending three years constructing it almost entirely from reclaimed materials, according to a report by TOI.

Tom Lear began the project at the age of 17 while working as a carpentry apprentice on a low training wage. Rather than putting most of his income into rent, he decided to build a home of his own on a donated flatbed trailer, working through evenings and weekends until it was finished, TOI reports.
