17 people missing from home in Merseyside this Christmas

Christmas can be a traumatic time for those who are separated from their loved ones.

But this is the devastating reality for many people across Merseyside who have no idea where their friend or family member has gone. Around 180,000 people are reported missing in the UK each year - that is one person every 90 minutes, according to the independent charity Missing People.

Although in the vast majority of cases a missing person is found or return within 24 hours - sadly this is not the case for all. Here the ECHO highlights the cases of everyone who is currently listed as missing in Merseyside by the charity Missing People.
