A 15-year-old Dubliner is through to the final stage of qualifying for the Open Championship after a sensational 65 at County Louth Golf Club on Monday.
Many of Ireland's top amateurs and professionals, including former British Masters winner Paul Dunne, were at Baltray with the dream of qualifying for next month's 150th Open at St. Andrews.
But Sean Keeling, out in the last group of the day, tore around the famous links in seven-under-par to win the qualifying event by two shots from Robert Moran.
The Roganstown youngster started out with a bogey on the first hole but then picked five birdies in quick succession to make the turn in 33 strokes.
Three more birdies would follow on the back nine with the amateur signing for a 65. He will be joined at final qualifying by Moran, Ruaidhri McGee, Thomas Abom, Tim Rice, Stuart Grehan, Brendan McCarroll, and John Hickey.
Dunne, who starred as an amateur in the 2015 Open, finished one shot outside of the qualifying spots after carding a one-under-par 71 at the Louth venue.
Final Qualifying for the Open will take place over 36 holes on June 28 at Fairmont St Andrews, Hollinwell, Prince's and St Annes Old Links, with a minimum of 12 places in the major championship up for grabs.
