15 of the best food spots in Dublin named by Condé Nast Traveller - and some are very affordable

The top 15 must-stop places for foodies in Dublin have been named by Condé Nast Traveller.

While some Michelin-starred restaurants made the list, Chapter One and Liath, other spots include much more casual eateries including bakery Bread 41, pizza restaurant Pi, and an hit burger joint Bunsen.

The list features a diverse mix of cuisines dotted around Dublin city including Indian restaurant Pickle and Japanese food spot, Nomo Ramen.

These are the places named by Condé Nast Traveller as their favourite restaurants to go to in Dublin right now:

Pickle

Condé Nast Traveller warns to "book well in advance" for a table at Pickle as the Indian restaurant with "cult menu" options is a firm favourite with Dubliners with mains costing around €27.

Bunsen

Condé Nast Traveller claims Bunsen serves "Dublin’s best burgers" and it's a hard one to dispute. With perhaps the smallest menu in town, this place has perfected the 'straight-up', no-frills hamburger for €8.45.

Nomo Ramen

Nomo Ramen, just off Camden Street, has been named as one of the best places to get ramen in the capital with prices ranging from €14.99 to €16.99. The Japanese-inspired eatery also imports its noodles from the same supplier as David Chang's US Momofuku chain.

PI Pizza

This wood-fired oven pizza restaurant on George's Street has eight pizzas on the menu which according to Condé Nast Traveller are "some of the best examples in the city" for around €15.

Bread 41

The "freshly baked aromas" from Bread 41 will hit you as soon as you walk in the door, with sweet and savoury pastries and bread on offer in the ground floor café ranging from about €3 to €6 and a brunch spot upstairs.

Chapter One

As one of Ireland's four two-star Michelin restaurants, Chapter One is one of the most expensive offerings on the list, with the tasting menu costing €180. But Condé Nast Traveller suggests trying the three-course lunch for €75 for a "more affordable way to experience one of Ireland’s most exciting dining rooms".

Uno Mas

The Spanish-inspired restaurant on Aungier Street comes in at about €32 for a main course with "tapas-inspired" to "substantial" starters ranging from €4 to €15.

Mamó

This modern European restaurant in the coastal suburb of Howth makes the list and also has an impressive 4.9 stars on Google Reviews and according to Condé Nast Traveller "feels like a warm embrace" when you walk in.

Daddy's Cafe

Daddy’s Café located in a converted pub in Rialto impressed Condé Nast Traveller with its €13.95 "superior Irish fry-up" as well as sandwiches, soups, and salads.

Liath

This two-star Michelin restaurant in Blackrock has a tasting menu of €180 with an "explosion of unexpected flavour combinations".

Fish Shop

Fish Shop in Smithfield offers an "elevated" version of the regular fish and chip experience with prices from €15.95.

Volpe Nera

Condé Nast Traveller called this a "hidden gem" with an Asian-influenced Mediterranean menu with popular dishes ranging from cep dumplings to sage and spelt gnocchi. Mains come in around €30.

Caviston

The seafood restaurant in Glasthule with views over Dublin Bay serves mains ranging from €25 to €38, and also features a fishmongers and food store next door during the day.

Forest Avenue

Normal People fans may recognise the interior of this restaurant off Grand Canal, as it was used as a film location in the hit BBC show. The fine dining tasting menu comes in at €78 per person.

The Park Cafe

Irish chef Richard Corrigan's The Park Café is included on the Condé Nast Traveller list with special mentions for its seafood including mains like the Bentley’s fish pie for €27.90 and the la jammet kebab for €29.
