14-year-old boy miraculously recovers from deadly amoebic meningoencephalitis in Kerala

In a rare case of recovery, a 14 year old from Kerala has recovered from the deadly amoebic meningoencephalitis. It is to be noted that the disease has an almost 97% mortality rate. State Health Minister Veena George announced that a 14-year-old boy undergoing treatment for the disease has recovered. She described this as a rare occurrence in the country, given the high mortality rate of the disease.
