PATNA: The state registered new Covid cases in double digits (14) after a long gap on the day PM Narendra Modi held a virtual meeting with the chief ministers of several states, including Bihar's Nitish Kumar, on the issue on Wednesday. The active caseload in Bihar increased to 33.
When asked if any particular instruction was given to Bihar, additional chief secretary (health) Pratyaya Amrit said the instructions were in general for all the states. Amrit said the state had recently held two high-level meetings on the rise in Covid-19 cases in some parts of the country and asked the state officials to be on alert. "The cases are slightly increasing, but we are monitoring the situation closely," he added.
