Shots fired by a passing car pierced the front window of an Englewood neighborhood home, grazing a 13-year-old girl inside on Thursday night on the South Side.
The eighth grader was on the front porch of a home with her family in the 7100 block of South Carpenter Street about 7:40 p.m. when a vehicle approached and someone inside opened fire, police said.
The girl ran inside but she was grazed in the left shoulder by one round which came through the front window and ended up lodged in a wall, police said.
Paramedics treated her on the scene and she wasn’t taken to a hospital, police said.
No one was in custody.
