More than 120 buyers have registered for apartments at the £2 billion ultra-luxury Mayfair development being built by mobile phones tycoon John Caudwell.
New images of the scheme, called 1 Mayfair, were released today to mark the passing of the 65% build completion landmark. The 125 sign up for Caudwell apartments 300,000 sq ft eight-storey development is on schedule to be completed at the end of 2025 after nine years of construction.
Caudwell boasts that the apartments are “London’s most luxurious development”.
Prices have not been released but with 29 residences, ranging from studios to townhouses, the total estimated value of the scheme suggests an average cost of almost £70million.
Local agent Peter Wetherell said it could help push Mayfair values to a record £12,000 per sq ft by next year. Lars Christiaanse, group director of sales at Caudwell, said prices will be released to the general market next year.
He added: “We have had over 125 registrations of interest from pre-qualified potential buyers and we have also had a couple of offers from buyers on particular residences with several others under discussion.”
Caudwell said: “Our vision for 1 Mayfair is to deliver a legacy for London in the form of a landmark residential scheme of such superlative quality and outstanding design that it will be worthy of an architectural listing and conservation for generations to come.
“Our world-class design team have worked alongside us to deliver our vision and exceed everyone’s expectations. With its classical architecture, palatial stately home inspired interiors, unique residences and outstanding amenities 1 Mayfair will set a new benchmark for ultra-prime London living and influence luxury design for centuries.”
The development includes a rotunda with a circular colonnade and a ceiling with hand-painted frescos.
