Summer is for live, laugh, loving. Festival season is in full swing, beach days are aplenty, and sunset drinks are being organised on the regular. But before you can let your hair down and have a drink with your mates, you need to survive the getting ready process in the stifling heat. It’s akin to doing your makeup after freshly entering the gates of hell — especially if you don’t have air conditioning in your bathroom. Sure, the simple solution is to not wear makeup. But I like dolling myself up for an outing, and I’m not gonna let a stuffy bathroom and 35 degree day stop me.

You never forget your first love. While Charlotte Tilbury is my go-to RN, before her, there was Urban Decay. The All Nighter Long Lasting Setting Spray was the number one setting spray during the peak 2016 beauty YouTube era. It was great then, and it’s great now. Only reason I go for Charlotte Tilbury over this one is because it’s a smidgeeee cheaper. But Urban Decay didn’t lie when they said it lasts all night.

This one’s for the girlies who love a matte makeup look. My colleague Gemma absolutely swears by this, and practically begged me to include it in my round up. It’s affordable, lightweight, and lasts for hours. If you’re after a cheaper option that doesn’t compromise on quality, this is it.

Another colleague-recommended setting spray! When we all forgot our setting spray at the Christmas party, Saacha came in clutch with her trusty L’Oréal Paris Infallible 3-Second Setting Mist. It lowkey feels like hairspray on your face, but once you move past that, you realise how bloody good it is. I’m talking makeup-lasting-the-work-Christmas-party good.
