Bringing Indian and European literature enthusiasts together, the Long Night of LiteratureS took place at the Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi on Friday, September 23, 2022. Last organised in physical form in 2019, the Long Night of LiteratureS was back in the national capital this year after a brief hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Long Night of LiteratureS, which went on till late night on Friday, was organised in a typical speed-dating format. The audiences were divided into smaller groups, while the authors were seated in different rooms. As a group moved from one room to the other, they were treated to a brief presentation by the author present over there. The authors spoke about their literary journey and works; they also read portions of their books in the original language as well as in English. Each presentation was roughly 20 minutes long, and then the group had to move to another room.
