103 Colmore Row unveils new 18th-floor members' space

New images have been released showcasing a business members' club being developed in a Birmingham city centre office block.

To be called 'Eighteen', it will be housed on the 18th floor of 103 Colmore Row and offer tenants of the building access to a lounge with dining and bar facilities, meeting rooms, event space and break out areas as well as a 3,000 sq ft outdoor terrace overlooking the city.

The terrace will play host to a calendar of regular social events and wellbeing classes while the space will also be available to hire for private events by non-tenants.

The space is part of the new 26-storey office tower at the corner with Newhall Street which is being developed by Sterling Property Ventures and Tristan Capital Partners.

A string of lettings have been announced there in recent months including law firms Shoosmiths and Browne Jacobson and risk management company Gallagher among others.

Flexible workspace provider x+why will also run co-working facilities across the first three floors of the building and operate Eighteen, which is due to launch in September, while D&D London will run a ground-floor café and rooftop bar and restaurant.

Sterling Property Ventures' managing director James Howarth said: "The ability to offer tenants membership to a business club on the 18th floor is a major unique selling point for the building.

"The dining and bar facilities are perfect for a client lunch during the day, drinks with colleagues after work or just networking with other tenants while the meeting rooms provide additional business and event space.

"And then there's the terrace, which will be one of the most spectacular spaces in the country, with its panoramic views of Birmingham. We can't wait for it to open."

Rupert Dean, co-founder and chief executive of x+why, said: "We're really excited by the opportunity to operate an on-site members' clubspace at 103 Colmore Row.

"Our ethos is centred around building communities of like-minded, purpose-driven businesses by providing creative and inspiring workspaces, coupled with engaging networking events and wellbeing programmes."
