1000-lb Sisters' Tammy split from Caleb before death because he 'wasn't following diet'

1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton split with her estranged husband Caleb Willingham before his death because he "wasn’t taking care of his health" or sticking to his diet, it has been reported.

Caleb, 40, was married to Tammy for five months before they were said to have parted ways earlier this year, with the news of the couple planning to get divorced emerging in May.

36-year-old Tammy is said to have decided to part ways with her husband after he let his weight loss journey "slip", with him "gaining weight again", according to reports.

The news of Caleb's death was revealed on Saturday, with his younger brother announcing the sad news on Facebook and Tammy then confirming the news shortly after.

Despite Tammy's emotional tribute to her husband, where she branded him her "guardian angel" and spoke of how he showed her what "real love" was, the couple's romance was on the rocks.

A source revealed to the US Sun in May that Tammy had her legal team "lined up" with her "ready to file for divorce" from her husband.

The source then added that ultimately the couple split because, although he was in rehab at the time, Caleb wasn't following his diet.

The outlet also added that Tammy wanted someone who could be there for her, with the source adding that Caleb's health "kept declining" at the time.

"She would have to take care of him once he's out of rehab, and that is her taking on the care of a whole other person when she can barely take care of herself, so the relationship is pointless," the source claimed at the time.

Tammy met Caleb at a food rehabilitation centre last autumn, with the couple falling in love in a whirlwind romance and love story that saw them get married mere weeks later in November.

Following the news of Caleb's death this weekend, Tammy took to Instagram to share an emotional post about her husband.

"Rip sweet angel you will forever be missed and loved so much thank you Caleb for showing me real love and happiness," Tammy penned on Saturday.

She then confirmed his death to People Magazine, when she said: "When I met Caleb he became my guardian angel and now he really is watching over me."
