The 1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has vowed to not let her body "defeat her" after she nearly died.
Tammy, 36, was rushed to hospital last year after she stopped breathing in a weight loss facility.
She was put on a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma and her loved ones were told to prepare themselves for the worst.
Despite her body "shutting down", she survived and was even well enough to return to the rehab centre for the fourth series.
She will be focusing on her health and her upcoming wedding to Caleb Willingham in the new show.
Her near-death experience has shocked her into realising the fragility of life, and made her realise that she needs to make changes in order to avoid another health scare.
She told People magazine: "My near-death experience has taught me not to take life for granted."
"I now live my life how I want to and not how others want me to," she added.
"I told y’all that this wasn’t the end of me, the new and improved Tammy is on the way."
Her bariatric surgeon, Dr. Eric Smith, said that if she hit her 500 lbs target, she could go from rehab and qualify for weight loss surgery.
She was told that her eating habits, lack of exercise, heavy drinking and vaping were putting her in danger.
She married Caleb Willingham at the rehab center in November.
In a TikTok video, she told fans: "You all knew me as Tammy Slaton, but now you’ll all know me as Mrs Tammy Willingham. I’m married now!"
She and Caleb, 39, met at the centre, and after falling in love, they invited 30 friends and family for a small celebration.
In October last year, Caleb proposed to his wife in a video, which they shared online.
They both said how much of a support they were to each other and Caleb plans to move to Kentucky to spend more time with his wife.
In sweet photos taken on the day, Tammy wore a white gown with frilly straps.
She added a sparkling tiara which had a veil attached to it.
She carried a bouquet of fake sunflowers, and Caleb had a sunflower on his shirt.
Amy showed off her impressive weight-loss in a pretty burnt-orange gown with a thin belt with sunflowers printed on.
