1000-lb Sisters' Amy Slaton admits she's 'disappointed' after learning sex of her baby

Amy Slaton was left devastated when she found out the sex of her unborn baby, before admitting she wants to "get my tubes tied".

The 1000-lb Sisters star, 35, announced she was pregnant with her second child with husband Michael Halterman in January last year.

She discovered her pregnancy after being constipated for three weeks and the couple then welcomed their son Glenn in July.

However, before Glenn's birth, Amy was visibly disappointed when Dr Cindy Basinski revealed she was pregnant with another boy.

"I'm this much disappointed," Amy said while making a huge gesture with her hands in a preview of tonight's episode.

She added: "At the end of the day, they are healthy and that's all that matters."

"I'm getting older and I'm already high risk, so after this baby I'm getting my tubes tied," Amy admitted.

Her husband Michael said he "knew" they would be having another boy.

Elsewhere in the preview clip, Amy's doctor warns her that her pregnancy was high risk as a result of her weight.

"Women who are not their ideal weight are at higher risk for blood pressure, so that’s why it’s also very important to monitor what you're putting in your body and really limiting those carbs," Dr Basinski said.

She added: "The reality is, if you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be around to take care of him.

"So, if you want to be here for Gage and your baby, you will have to take care of yourself."

Opening up about her pregnancy journey on 1000-lb Sisters, Amy revealed how she found out about baby number two.

"Two years ago I was pregnant with Gage because I went to the ER because I was so constipated. And with this one, I was like, 'Babe, I haven’t pooped in three weeks! I'm pregnant'," she said in a confessional.

Constipation is a common side effect of pregnancy and can continue to affect the mother up to six weeks after giving birth.

Amy recently took to Instagram to celebrate her son's six-month milestone, sharing a series of adorable pictures of her baby.

She wrote: "This boy so smart he hit every milestone and some.

"Right now he is working on crawling he can get his knee up right then he leap. Or army crawls."
