BENGALURU: The gradual spike in the number of students scoring 100% in SSLC exams might look like a reason to celebrate. But experts and academicians warn that the 'cent per cent culture' also threatens to disturb the mental health of students at large.
The principal of a government school in the city said they have several students scoring beyond 600, but it's no longer even mentioned in the media. "I am happy we have good results, but at what cost? When hundreds score 100%, those who score 95% aren't considered good enough. I feel sad the way things have changed in the last decade," he said, adding that 100% in humanities and language subjects is disappointing.
