An 18-year-old man was killed and another man was wounded in a shooting involving a stolen car on the Near South Side Thursday afternoon.

The men were in a car in the 1900 block of South State Street when a stolen white Kia approached about 3:30 p.m. and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

Cameron Rayford, 18, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The other victim, also 18, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand, police said. He was listed in good condition.

The Kia was found abandoned near Cermak Road and State Street about three blocks away, officials said. No one was in custody.
