Around 1,300 workers in the City were evacuated from their offices and workplaces on Tuesday after a major gas pipe ruptured.
Firefighters carried out the evacuations after a 24-inch gas pipe burst in the city’s Seething Lane, at the junction with Crutched Friars.
Nearby Fenchurch Station was not affected by the leak, said the London Fire Brigade.
In its latest update at 5pm, the Brigade urged residents to avoid the area as the incident was being dealt with.
