Oprah Winfrey’s popular podcast is set to move to Amazon following a multiyear agreement between her production company, Harpo Entertainment, and Amazon-owned Wondery.
The deal grants Wondery exclusive distribution and advertising rights for The Oprah Podcast.
Under the terms of the agreement, The Oprah Podcast will expand its offering to two new episodes per week, commencing this summer.
Wondery will oversee the distribution of both audio and video content across Amazon’s extensive range of platforms. Furthermore, Amazon has secured rights to the extensive library of the iconic The Oprah Winfrey Show, which aired from 1986 to 2011, alongside her renowned book club and Favorite Things franchises.
Financial details of the arrangement have not been immediately disclosed.
Winfrey, who launched her podcast in December 2024, stated that hosting the show "allows me to continue the work I feel called to do – opening the door for conversations that matter," adding that expanding its reach "is an opportunity I embrace."
This move sees Winfrey’s podcast join a growing roster of celebrity-led shows on Amazon, including the exclusive distribution and advertising deal Wondery struck in 2024 for New Heights, featuring NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce.
Wondery is scheduled to begin distributing The Oprah Podcast across Amazon services such as Prime Video, Amazon Music, Fire TV Channels, and Audible from July, though the podcast will also continue to be available on YouTube and other popular platforms.
