Netherlands quick Paul van Meekeren has taken three wickets to help bowl Zimbabwe out for 117 in their T20 World Cup clash.
Van Meekeren (3-29) and his pace partners Brandon Glover (2-29) and Bas de Leede (2-13) were influential in curtailing the Zimbabweans, who were dismissed in 19.2 overs.
Zimbabwe, needing a win on Wednesday at Adelaide Oval to remain a chance of reaching the semi-finals, won the toss and batted.
But they were soon in the mire, losing 3-20 in six overs, as van Meekeren and Glover made early inroads.
Sikandar Raza, who top-scored with an aggressive 40 from 24 balls, and Sean Williams (28 from 23) steadied with an innings-high 48-run partnership.
But the pair were the only Zimbabweans to reach double-figures with the bat.
After Williams' dismissal, another clump of wickets soon fell as the Africans lost their last seven for only 49 runs.
The Zimbabweans must down the Dutch to remain a mathematical chance of progressing to the semis.
Zimbabwe (three points) are fourth in their group but, to advance, need to beat the Netherlands and then India in their last group game on Sunday while hoping other results fall their way.
The winless Netherlands (zero points) are last in a group headed by South Africa (five points) followed by India (four points) and Bangladesh (four points), with Pakistan in fifth spot with two points.
India meet Bangladesh in Adelaide on Wednesday night.
