It's been 35 years since we first met everyone's favourite aliens from Planet Zog.
Yes, Zig and Zag are celebrating a major anniversary, as they made their television debut on September 22, 1987, on Dempsey's Den.
To celebrate, they posted a mini-throwback GIF of their very first appearance alongside the broadcaster.

Taking to Twitter, the team behind Double Z Creative wrote: "ON THIS DAY! 35 years ago - 22nd September 1987 #ZigAndZag made their TV debut on @RTEOne landing in Ireland and joining @IanDempsey on ‘Dempsey’s Den’ so we’re claiming this day as Intergalactic #ZigAndZagDay"
Since then, the duo have cracked the UK on The Big Breakfast and MTV (leading Dustin the Turkey to claim the brothers had "sold out to the Queen"), had their own radio show and reached the top of the charts at Christmas with the appropriately-titled 'The Christmas No.1".
The aliens returned to our screens in 2020 when RTÉ recommissioned The Den for a series, though hearts were broken across the nation when the broadcaster confirmed it would be ending once more last year.
Disappointed fans flocked to the comments at the time to react to the news of the cancellation, with former Mrs Brown’s Boys star Rory Cowan leading the charge saying: “That is a bad decision.”
Another said: “shockingly bad call there,” while someone else added: “Raging. Thanks so much for what you gave us though. Loved every second.”
