Manchester United's supporters were waxing lyrical about the potential of young midfielder Zidane Iqbal after he caught the eye when stepping off the bench against Melbourne Victory on Friday.
Just as he did against Liverpool in Thailand on Tuesday, Reds manager Erik ten Hag made ten changes at the half-time interval at Melbourne Cricket Ground, in a plan to give as many minutes as possible to every member of his squad. The plethora of changes at half-time meant that several youngsters stepped into the fold, including Ethan Laird, Charlie Savage, Tahith Chong and Iqbal.
And it was the latter that caught the eye within just minutes of coming on. Slotting into midfield alongside Savage, the midfielder, who recently signed a new contract at Old Trafford, wanted the ball at his feet as often as possible.

As he as was against Liverpool, Iqbal was confident and composed in possession, so much so that he produced a sensational piece of skill to spin away from Chris Ikonomidis, who had given Melbourne an early lead after just five minutes.
And it was that moment of individual brilliance that earned an immediate wave of praise and admiration for him on social media.
