Zhiyun has announced the launch of its latest single-handed gimbal stabiliser which works with mirrorless cameras as easily as smartphones.
The firm said the ultra-compact and lightweight Zhiyun Crane-M2S has been designed to hold various cameras, action cams, mirrorless cameras and smartphones, so you can get a smooth video no matter what device you’re using.
It packs in powerful motors that will enable users to capture silky smooth motion footage.
The new gimbal weighs in at 549g, making it one of the lightest full-sized gimbals out there.
The company said that it’s powerful enough to hold a Sony A73S mirrorless camera with a small prime lens attached.
The M2S is an update to the firm’s highly popular Crane-M2. The new model features stronger motors and extended axes, which combine to make it an ideal solution for run-and-gun filmmakers.
It features a 0.66in display that feeds back real-time operating parameters of both the camera and the gimbal.
New shooting modes including Pan Follow, Follow, Lock, POV, Vortex and Go.
Illumination
Zhiyun includes a built-in fill lamp to ensure you get a decent light source onto your subject.
The side-mounted lamp uses Lumen Amplifier technology to produce 1000 lumens of brightness within 2.8 cubic metres.
There are five levels of adjustment and there’s the option to attach one of four colour filters to achieve different lighting effects and give you full creative control.
The Crane-M2S has incorporates a V-shape quick release plate design.
The firm said this is ultra-fast to use and an ideal fit for the run-and-gun market that the gimbal is aimed at.
The V-shape baseplate is compact and can be left in place on the camera without getting in the way.
Crane-M2S features USB PD fast-charging up to 12W through the USB-C connector.
This means that a full charge of the Crane-M2S can be achieved within 100 minutes, this single charge will offer up to 10 hours of running time.
The built-in battery can also be used as a power pack for your camera.
The USB cable also enables direct camera control if your camera model is compatible.
A Combo package includes a customised high quality, spill resistant bag with dedicated spaces for the CRANE-M2S to be stored and transported safely.
