JAIPUR: In the budget speech of 2022 by chief minister Ashok Gehlot, in order to provide relief to 1.18 crore domestic electricity consumers of the state, a grant in electricity rates was announced. In compliance with the announcement, Jaipur discom has started giving subsidy amounts to all domestic category consumers from the billing month of April 2022 in the current financial year 2022-23 through adjustment in bills.
Jaipur discom’s managing director Ajit Saxena has informed that due to the budget announcement made by the chief minister, the electricity consumers of Jaipur Discom have got a big relief in bills. A grant amounting to about Rs 310 crore has been given to about 40 lakh domestic consumers of the Jaipur discom in the electricity bills issued in April and May 2022. Due to exemption from April 1, zero amount bills have been issued to 13.42 lakh domestic consumers consuming 50 units per month. These consumers did not have to pay the electricity bill.
Saxena informed that under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Yojana, the announcement of giving additional grant up to Rs 1,000 per month to the general category rural block hour supply agricultural consumers. TNN
