The first Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom patch in over a month focusses on squashing quest bugs and is available to download now.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom continues to impress players on a daily basis, whether it's via cool ways to farm meat and rupees quickly, or the ability to instantly build mechanisms using Autobuild. It’s been a while since the game received a worthwhile patch from Nintendo, however, being yet more evidence of the highly polished state it initially released in. Update 1.2.0 released today is the first seen in over a month, offering further tweaks mainly centred on fixing main quest halting progress.
As well as providing fixes for bugs related to main quests, side quests and side adventures where progress was at risk of being halted, update 1.2.0 – as detailed on the Nintendo of America support site – also preps The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for upcoming cool functionality with the Nintendo Switch News channel feature. Accessed via the console’s main Home menu, the patch notes detail how players can “receive a number of in-game items” when launching the game from certain news stories.
There doesn’t seem to be any new in-game items to redeem just yet, but it might be worth following the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom News channel for what appears to be the inevitable. Just bear in mind that if you’re someone who switched off auto updates in order to maintain the get rich quick glitch, you’ll have to update the game to 1.2.0 to benefit from future item rewards and the handful of side quest fixes.
