Nintendo has finally revealed more details about its upcoming remake of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." The game will launch on November 5 for the Nintendo Switch 2. Finally, the leaks have come to an end with this official announcement.
The most awaited game will arrive in the same month as "Grand Theft Auto 6." Few major publishers appear willing to launch a major game so close to such a highly anticipated title.
'Ocarina of Time' Gets a New Look on Switch 2
Nintendo has rebuilt "Ocarina of Time" from the ground up for the Switch 2, as we have seen on The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct reveal. The remake features a new 3D visual style.
It also looks different from previous "Zelda" games. The updated presentation gives the classic adventure a much more modern appearance. The remake also includes several gameplay improvements. Players can now jump manually and dash. They can also switch between items more quickly.
Motion controls will provide another way to aim. These changes could make the decades-old adventure feel more responsive on modern hardware.
New Threads of Time Feature
Nintendo is also adding a new feature called Threads of Time. The system will work as a quest log. It will also display the player's progress in a tapestry-like presentation.
Cutscenes will receive another major upgrade. They will now feature full voice acting. Link, however, will still have very little to say.
Classic Hyrule Structure Remains
Despite the visual and gameplay changes, the remake appears to preserve much of the original game's structure, according to IGN.
Hyrule's different regions will remain separate areas. Players will still encounter loading screens when moving between them.
Nintendo has also teased some new areas and activities. Castle Town, for example, appears to have additional content. Some shops will also feature minigames.
Players Can Hum Ocarina Songs
One of the more unusual additions involves the game's famous Ocarina songs.
Instead of relying entirely on button prompts, players will be able to hum the melodies that Link plays.
Nintendo will also release a physical Ocarina accessory. This will give fans another way to interact with one of the game's most recognizable features.
While we're waiting for the game's release months from now, relive your memories with these three "Zelda" games that deserve a remake.
Elsewhere, Riot Games rolled out "League of Legends" in-game voice chat. It might be too late for the popular MMORPG, but still, it's better to be late than never.
Usually, "LoL" players only use third-party apps like Discord to communicate with their friends during games. This is fine, but there are some limitations when it comes to functionality.
Launching the team voice chat after 17 years is still a relief.
