Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) is stepping up investments in sports, animation, visual effects and other emerging content segments as it seeks to build new growth engines and capture a larger share of India’s evolving media and entertainment market, the company said in its latest annual report.
Addressing shareholders, ZEEL CEO Punit Goenka said the industry was increasingly being shaped by digital media, gaming, animation and VFX, prompting the company to diversify beyond its traditional television-led businesses.
