He may still be just a year old - but Zara Tindall's young son Lucas already seems keen to take up a favourite hobby of the royals.
The Queen's granddaughter, 41, was at the Magic Millions Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire with Lucas, her husband Mike Tindall and older daughters Mia and Lena. During the fun day out, Zara, a former champion equestrian, took her son to be introduced to one of the many horses at the event. And Lucas was snapped squealing with excitement after his mum allowed him to hold on to the horse's reins by himself.
The youngster dressed all in blue with a cute bucket hat, looked delighted as Zara lifted him up so he could grab the reins.
While another photo shows the young boy tenderly reaching up to give the animal a stroke on the head.
The royals are known horse lovers with the Queen, Lucas' great-grandmother a keen horsewoman and racing fan.

Princess Anne, Zara's mum, competed in the 1976 Olympic Games in the three-day equestrian event.
While Zara went one better and won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games as part of Team GB's equestrian eventing team.
Despite being part of the royal family, Zara and her children do not hold any royal titles and live a low-key life in Gloucestershire.
However, they all made prominent public appearances during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this summer.
Mike revealed the news of Lucas' birth on his podcast "The Good, The Bad and The Rugby" last year hailing his wife as a "warrior".
He said: "Fortunately Zara's friend Dolly is... actually more important than I am at making sure she's been at all three of my children's births, she was there and recognised that we wouldn't have got to the hospital in time, so it was run into the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, towels down, brace brace brace!"
He was baptised in an unprecedented double royal christening alongside Princess Eugenie's young son August.
The ceremony, which took place at All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park, was attended by various members of the Royal Family, including the Queen.
